Shkodra was shocked yesterday by the sad news of the untimely passing of Dardan Baraku, Albania's young 100-meter champion athlete, who passed away at the age of 16.

Journalist Senad Nikshiqi, speaking on a link for the show "Dita Jonë" on A2CNN, said that the news has shocked and left a great pain in the Shkodra family and community.

The journalist reports that a cerebral hemorrhage is suspected so far. He also reveals that the deceased 16-year-old was an only child in the family.

"From the sources so far, it is about a cerebral hemorrhage that 16-year-old Dardan Baraku suffered, he passed away without being able to save himself. From a medical point of view, the maximum was done, it must be said. He was operated on in one of the private surgeries in Tirana, but it was impossible for him to survive, despite all the care of his family, friends and people who were close to him. He spent about a week, or a few days in a coma, but he was unable to withstand the shock, leaving a great pain in the Shkodra community, but also beyond. He was an only boy and this adds even more to the great pain of his family and relatives. It was an extremely unexpected event and moment, which was shocking, due to the young age and extraordinary abilities of the 16-year-old."
