Albin Nikolli, one of the protesters who stayed at the police station for several days after the July 2 protest, claims that he and his friends were raped by the police even during detention.
Nikolli also says that he was not offered basic medical assistance by qualified personnel.
In his speech during the 36th protest in front of the Prime Minister's Office, the young man said:
"I am one of the two people arrested in the July 2 protest. We were arrested illegally. We were at the Parliament, we requested information about a protester and we were faced with inexplicable violence by the State Police. We were brutally detained and escorted to Police Station No. 3. I do not want to be victimized, as many of my friends with whom I was have suffered extraordinary and unjustified violence. I want to say that we have not been offered either basic medical aid or forensic expertise from qualified medical personnel, even though it is our legal and constitutional right. The protesters are not hooligans, they are not against constitutional law and order. They are to return Albania to democratic tracks ," he said.
