A sad news has been shared on his account on the social network "Facebook", by diplomat and former mayor of Vlora, Ermal Dredha.

His beloved father, Doctor Neki Dredha, has passed away, in whose footsteps he followed not only in life but also in his career, running for and winning the position of mayor of Vlora.

Dredha announces that his father will be taken to his final resting place today, at the Sharra cemetery.

"It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear father, Doctor Neki Dredha. The funeral ceremony will take place today, May 29, at 4:00 PM at the cemetery, Sharra."

The departure will be from Alba 2000, the former Yugoslav Embassy, ​​Durrës Street, Tirana. From the family!” the former mayor wrote in his status.

Who was Doctor Neki Dredha ?

He was a doctor by profession and also a former Mayor of Vlora. Doctor Neki Dredha held the title of "Honorary Citizen of Vlora" since 2013. During his career, he also wrote several publicistic and poetic books, such as the narrative poem "Labëria Magjike".

He served for years as a doctor in the city of Vlora, being one of the well-known figures of healthcare there. He is also the author of memorial writings dedicated to medicine and prominent figures of Albanian healthcare.
