The Supreme Court overturns the decision of the former judge Zamira Vyshka and returns the case for retrial with another body in the Special Anticorruption Appeal.
On January 26 of this year, the Appeal upheld the sentence of 2 years of probation for the former judge of Elbasan, who was found guilty of the "passive corruption" charge.
The court also left in force the decision to remove the right to exercise public functions for a period of 3 years.
Vyshka was arrested in July 2022 by order of the Special Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office together with lawyer Ilir Pashaj, under the accusation that he was taking about 400,000 ALL in bribes to reduce the sentence of a prisoner by 6 months.
For Pashaj, the Appeal imposed his sentence of 2 years, which due to the shortened trial was reduced to 1 year and 4 months.
