"We want workers for picking peaches", the journalist's irony: As
Field worker (illustrative photo)

Inspired by a job announcement published on the Internet by employment companies, journalist Mentor Kikia has recalled the times when Albanians immigrated en masse to Greece and were expelled by the Greeks while now they are wanted.

He further ironizes the bitter reality in our country, saying that those who flee to the North to work are the poor who apparently benefited more from leaving their apples unpicked and working for the Greek with a secure payment. .

When the Albanians, at the beginning of mass emigration against hunger, crossed the mountains on foot, the Greek police and army followed them with dogs through the woods.

Now employment agencies also publish announcements for workers to pick peaches (this below is an announcement from an agency in Korce).

Undoubtedly, those who leave to work in the North are the pickers who leave their apples unpicked.
