Today, the prosecution filed the request for the extradition to Turkey of the Turkish businessman Faruk Fatih Ozer in the Elbasan Court of First Instance. He is accused of committing fraud of hundreds of millions of euros with cryptocurrencies. 

The Turkish citizen, founder of an online platform for the exchange of cryptocurrencies, Thodex, suddenly closed the activity, in April last year, after having collected an amount of 2 billion dollars from 391 thousand investors.

Ozer was declared internationally wanted by Interpol Ankara, while the High Court of Istanbul issued an arrest warrant against him in 2021, for the criminal offenses of "Creating a criminal organization" and "Fraud with serious consequences".

The young Turk had arrived in Albania on April 20, 2021, before the authorities of his country were put in motion.
