The former head of Serious Crimes, Eugen Beci, declares that elements of crime are an active part of politics in our country.
Speaking about the case of 430 kg of cocaine that was found dissolved in tons of manure a few days ago in Fier, Beci, a guest on the show "Top Story" says that politics has created peace of mind for criminals.
"And in the last case when the arrest of 10 people was made after the seizure of a significant amount of cocaine, it was done in the form of a controlled delivery, where the Albanian law enforcement authorities cooperated closely with foreign authorities from several countries, which were coordinated by Special Prosecutor's Office.
This means that the synchronization and successful completion of an operation shows that the policy has not been able to support or protect the characters it could have in its bosom.
It has not been able to protect them because of the operation, because of the complexity of the operation, because of the way the controlled delivery happens. And in this sense, it seems that the Albanian police, in cooperation with the Special Prosecutor's Office, have made an example of these people in order to carry out the operation and to have a success at the end of catching these people".
Criminals, adds the former head of serious crimes, are finding shelter in politics:
"This does not show that politics has kept them calm, it shows that many criminals are finding refuge in politics in recent years and it is not said that both parties must know each other, which I know you are criminal and I will use you. They make the most of all politics to carry out their criminal activity".
Beci also shows how, according to him, politics is supporting crime:
"If years ago there was political support from criminal entities in certain areas of Albania, it seems that now these criminal entities have often become part of politics, taking advantage of the moment and power they had in certain areas"!
