The Albanian government and the Ministry of Education have prepared the draft decision for removing the 8.5 average in priority branches, at the request of public universities and the Agricultural University in particular, which has most of the branches declared as branches of national interest.
According to the rector of the agricultural university, Fatbardh Sallaku, with the new decision that is expected to be approved, the universities will be left to make the selection.
"We have agreed with the ministry to remove the average grade limit for every young person who applies for these study programs of national importance at the University of Tirana."
This draft decision foresees the support during the years of study of these students with a scholarship equal to the minimum wage, so the rector calls on young people to apply in these branches, since employment is guaranteed.
"There is a very low number in these priority branches. There will be a certain number of quotas for these branches where universities, senates, boards will be given the right to share."
The government's decision on approving changes for the scholarship support of excellent students and those who will follow national programs is expected to be approved at the next meeting of the government, reports Klan News.
"High school students who go to these programs with national priority, regardless of the average grade, become part of an economic benefit, 400 thousand old lek."
In total, there are about 39 study programs that have been announced as a priority by the government, where apart from the branches of Agriculture, there are also other branches related to the Faculty of Geodesy and Natural Sciences, while primary and preschool education have also been added.
