A serious incident occurred this Monday afternoon in the city of Vlora, where three people clashed with employees of the Local Urban Construction Inspectorate.

The incident occurred at around 12:20, at a place called the Narta Roundabout, where two traffic police officers who were passing by intervened during the conflict.

One of them fired his service weapon into the air to stop the conflict, without causing any injuries.

However, two police officers were injured in the physical conflict and were taken to the hospital.

"Today, at around 12:20, the Police services were notified that at the place called Nartës Roundabout, a conflict occurred between INUV employees and citizens ID, 58 years old, DD, 27 years old and FD, 23 years old. Near the conflict, two Traffic Police employees were performing a scheduled service, who intervened to prevent the escalation of the conflict and were physically attacked by the three aforementioned citizens. During the intervention and in an attempt to stop the physical attack, one of the employees used his service weapon by shooting in the air, without causing injuries. As a result of the physical injuries caused by the blows of the three citizens, the two Police employees were taken to the Vlora Regional Hospital, where they are out of danger to their lives," the police announced.

An investigative group has been set up at the scene, consisting of a judicial police officer from the Prosecution Office and the Police Supervision Agency, who are continuing their actions to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident.
