SPAK announced yesterday the completion of a large-scale anti-drug operation conducted in cooperation with Finnish authorities, which led to the destruction of a structured criminal network involved in international drug trafficking.

The drug trafficking was organized from Albania and later the group members trafficked it from Spain and the Netherlands towards Finland.

It concerns at least 4 criminal groups with Albanian leaders, whose special characteristic was their cooperation in drug trafficking, mainly synthetic drugs.

The operation conducted on Tuesday morning, June 3, has led to the arrest of 9 people on Albanian territory, while 2 others are still being sought.

Meanwhile, in Finland, 55 people, members of this group, have been convicted, 10 of them Albanians, the rest Finns, Poles, Romanians, Asians and Africans.

In total, around 300 kg of drugs were seized during this investigation, specifically 170 kg of amphetamine, 10 kg of cocaine and 100 kg of cannabis.

During the operation to arrest the traffickers, police forces and BKH agents seized 8 vehicles, mobile phones and many valuable documents for the investigation, documents in Finnish with important data on the criminal activity of the individuals and the movement of money.

At the press conference, the Finnish official announced that 4 major cases of drug trafficking have been documented.

Hans Fagerstrom:  We have had 4 major drug trafficking episodes in Finland, there were also smaller ones. As for the profit derived from them. "They used Telegram, Signal and WhatsApp. This is something common for citizens involved in criminal activity nowadays. Money transfer to Albania." , he said.
