The Office of the Greek Chamber of Advocates will closely follow the trial of Fredi Beleri, the elected but unsworn mayor of Himara due to imprisonment and the investigation into vote-buying for the May 14 local elections.

"Lawyer Eugen Gjyzari gave detailed information about the ongoing detention of the president-elect and the general judicial course of the case. The chairman of the plenary session of the presidents of the Chambers of Advocates of Greece, Dimitris Vervesos, expressed the support of the lawyer profession to the president-elect of Himara, as the basic principles of the rule of law and fair trial are being violated and highlighted the need to protect human rights and the rights of the recognized judiciary of the Greek minority.

Also, he has announced that a delegation of the plenary session of the presidents of the Chamber of Advocates will be present during the discussion on the reconsideration of Beler's detention measure.
