Fredi Beleri, the elected mayor of Himara in the May 14 elections, has been in a prison cell for about 4 months, after he was caught red-handed buying votes just 2 days before the elections.
The Special Prosecutor's Office (SPAK) has closed the investigation on Beler and demands his trial for "active corruption in elections". Together with him, his accomplice, Pandeli Kokaveshi, is also a defendant, charged with the same criminal offense.
"It turns out that it is proven beyond any reasonable doubt that the defendant Dhionisios Alfred Beleri offered the citizen Arsen Rama the monetary sum of 50 euros for every person Arseni would find, who would vote for Beleri as a candidate for the mayor of Himara Municipality. " it is stated in the announcement of SPAK, where it is added that Rama himself would be rewarded with 300 euros for the service.
According to SPAK, Beleri gave the monetary sums to Arsen Rama through Pandeli Kokaveshi. The latter gave citizen Arsen Rama eight 5,000 Lek banknotes for eight people who would vote in favor of Beler.
"In the specific case, the defendants have committed the criminal offense with illegal active actions in two forms, such as by promising and offering monetary sums to the citizen Arsen Rama so that the latter could influence the will of other citizens to ensure votes in favor of the defendant Dhionisios Alfred Beleri in the local elections of 14.05.2023", says SPAK.
Meanwhile, Media Ditari revealed the wiretapping that "sunk" Fredi Beleri. In the exclusive intercepts available to Media Ditari, Beleri talks to the informant and promises him 50 euros for 13 votes the next day and 300 euros for the informant himself if the votes were in the box. The informant tells him not to worry that he has secured votes and that he will vouch for these votes.
"Orea" (beautiful), Beleri is heard to say in Greek, to express his satisfaction that the vote buying was successfully carried out.
We remind you that yesterday Fredi Beleri filed 2 appeals in the Supreme Court, where in one of them he asks that the interceptions not be taken into account by the Court./ Taken from Ditar
