The moment of arrest

During the surprise checks yesterday evening, the Police arrested a person with significant criminal records in the field of crimes against the person and illegal firearms, as he was circulating with firearms, pistols and military ammunition.

The citizen  Leonard Gjeli alias Leonard Mamli alias Leonard Noka , 38 years old, resident of Kurbin, was put in handcuffs. The police also arrested the person accompanying him, citizen Xhentil Çypi , the driver of the vehicle.

"These citizens were traveling in an "Audi" type vehicle from Luzi to the center of Fushë Kruja, with driver Xhentil Çypi and passenger Leonard Gjeli. At the time of the arrest, these citizens tried to leave by vehicle but were neutralized by the intervention of professionalism of the Police services. During the control of the citizen Leonard Gjeli, the Police services found and seized, as material evidence, a firearm, a pistol with a grinder and combat ammunition." it is stated in the Police announcement.

Leonard Gjeli and Xhentil Çypi are charged with the criminal offenses of "Possessing and manufacturing weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition" and "Complaining of crime".
