Greek police authorities have arrested a 52-year-old Albanian man after several months of pursuing him. He is suspected of being the mastermind of a major drug cartel and had a European arrest warrant against him as one of the people who made staggering amounts of money from drug trafficking in the Netherlands.

Neighboring media report that for a period of 10 months, the amount of money earned from drug trafficking reaches up to 250 million euros.

His identity is not known, while the Greek media write that during the search carried out in the suspect's apartment, sums of money in banknotes from different countries, including euros, US dollars, Canadian dollars, Australian dollars, Swiss francs, were found and seized. , Turkish Lira, United Arab Emirates Dirham and South African Rand.

Authorities also confiscated mobile phones, including a mobile phone used for encrypted conversations through special apps, a tablet, a digital disk and SIM cards.

Meanwhile, the Athens prosecutor's office, in cooperation with the Dutch authorities, continues the investigation for new details, as it is suspected that the 52-year-old was laundering the money obtained from criminal activity.
