The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Albania has reacted to the agreement for a two-week ceasefire between the United States of America and Iran, describing it as a positive development for reducing tensions in the Middle East.

In a response to the media, the Foreign Ministry appreciates the constructive role played by Pakistan, Egypt, Turkey and Saudi Arabia in supporting efforts to reduce tensions and dialogue.

Appreciating Albania's continued efforts to reduce tensions and engage in meaningful dialogue, the Ministry underlines the importance of a comprehensive solution for security and peace for the region and beyond.

"The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Albania welcomes the agreement for a two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran, which aims to pave the way towards a sustainable solution to the escalating conflict in the Middle East. 

Albania has consistently supported efforts for de-escalation, restraint and meaningful dialogue. The disruption of global energy supplies, including the impact of instability around the Strait of Hormuz, continues to affect economies around the world, highlighting the urgency of restoring stability and ensuring the free flow of maritime trade.

We appreciate the constructive role played by Pakistan, Egypt, Turkey and Saudi Arabia in supporting efforts for de-escalation and dialogue.

Respecting the ceasefire and engaging in good faith towards a comprehensive and lasting solution will constitute a direct contribution to regional stability, security and peace for all."
