The Ambassador of Albania to Austria, Fate Velaj, held a meeting with Dr. Josef Leitner, mayor of Wieselburg, a city known in Austria as the "City of Fairs", where one of the most important events in the agricultural sector in the country is organized.

During the meeting, the possibility of expanding this traditional fair was discussed, giving it a stronger international dimension and including countries from Southeast Europe as part of it.

In this context, Ambassador Velaj proposed that Albania be the Guest Country at next year's edition of the fair. According to him, this would create the opportunity for the country to present developments and achievements in the agricultural, agro-industry and rural innovation sectors through a dedicated exhibition space.

Also, the idea of ​​organizing a dialogue forum between the two countries was raised, where institutional representatives, experts and entrepreneurs from Albania and Austria would discuss the future of agriculture, the challenges of green transformation and the opportunities for cross-border cooperation.

At the end of the meeting, Velaj also proposed the creation of a partnership between Wieselburg and the Lushnje-Divjakë areas, an initiative that was positively received by Mayor Leitner, who expressed his willingness for cooperation.

Today I held a meeting with Dr. Josef Leitner, mayor of Wieselburg, a city known as the "City of Fairs", where one of the most important agricultural fairs in Austria is organized.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss opportunities for expanding the traditional concept of the fair, giving it a more pronounced international dimension, with a particular focus on the countries of Southeast Europe.

In this context, I proposed that Albania be invited as a “Guest Country” in next year's edition. This would create the opportunity for Albania to present its achievements and developments in the agriculture, agro-industry and rural innovation sectors, through a dedicated exhibition space.

At the same time, I proposed organizing a dialogue forum, where institutional representatives, experts, entrepreneurs and other stakeholders from Austria and Albania would present their visions for the future of agriculture, the challenges of green transformation and the opportunities for cross-border cooperation.

Such an initiative would contribute not only to strengthening economic and cultural relations between Austria and Albania, but also to creating a new platform for cooperation.
In conclusion, I spoke about a partnership between Wieselburg and Lushnje-Divjaka, which Mayor Leitner expressed his willingness to do.
