Altin Dumani, the prosecutor who was elected head of SPAK, will be officially presented to the staff today. The head of KLP Alfred Balla will also be present at the ceremony.
Altin Dumani was elected as the head of SPAK this Friday by receiving 5 votes from 10 members of the High Prosecution Council who participated in the election of the chief prosecutor of the Special Prosecution.
Dumani is the second leader of SPAK since the creation of this key institution after the justice reform. Duman's mandate is 3 years, without the right to reappointment.
This was the second time that Dumani ran to head the Special Prosecutor's Office, after the first time he did not win against Arben Kraja.
Who is the new head of SPAK, Altin Dumani?
Altin Dumani was born in Shupenze, Dibra, and is known as the "uncompromising prosecutor". One of the most voluminous and sensational files was that of the "Golden Bullet" coded operation, after the arrest of two contract killers Nuredin Dumani and Henrik Hoxha. 32 arrest warrants were issued from this operation. He is one of the prosecutors who first led the Task Force unit, set up years ago to fight white-collar crime.
He has a career of 20 years as a prosecutor, in March 1999, he stepped into the prosecutor's office for the first time, with a duty in Saranda, while today he is the commanding head of the prosecution of the Appeal for Serious Crimes. Dumani caused a stir with the icy attitude he maintained during the trial of the 29 defendants of Gërdec and the 3 life sentences he requested for three of the main defendants of the tragedy of March 15, 2008. Also, Dumani was the prosecutor who took the former judge to prison of Kruja, Enkelejda Hoxha.
