The Police Supervision Agency has suspended 3 officers and a police inspector from duty, after they were accused of abuse of office.

The assignment of security measures against  Artan Selami, Myftar Dauti, Adem Qevani and Karafil Guçe became possible after proactive investigative actions carried out by the AMP in cooperation with the Berat General Jurisdiction Prosecutor's Office, which resulted in the conclusion that these police officers, while exercising their functional duties, through actions and inactions in violation of the law, have penalized/favored drivers found to be in violation or not of the Road Code.

AMP ANNOUNCEMENT
The Police Supervision Agency (Fier-Berat Region) has executed the Decision of the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction Berat, which has imposed personal security measures of a prohibitive nature "Suspension of the exercise of a public duty or service" provided for in Article 242 of the Criminal Procedure Code against four police officers suspected of committing the criminal offense "Abuse of office" provided for in Article 248 of the Criminal Code.

▶️ Inspector AS, with duty as Service Troop in the Urban and Interurban Traffic Section, at the Berat Police Department
▶️ Inspector MD, with duty as Service Troop in the Urban and Interurban Traffic Section, at the Berat Police Department
▶️ Inspector AQ, with duty as Service Troop in the Urban and Interurban Traffic Section, at the Berat Police Department
▶️ Inspector KG, with duty as General Patrol Officer at the Berat Police Commissariat.

The assignment of security measures was made possible after proactive investigative actions carried out by AMP in cooperation with the Berat General Jurisdiction Prosecutor's Office, which resulted in the conclusion that these police officers, while exercising their functional duties, through actions and inactions in violation of the law, have penalized/favored drivers found to be in violation of the Road Code or not.
