Tragic accident on the Vlora-Orikum axis, police: A 35-year-old man lost his life, trapped in the car that caught fire

The Vlora Police has reacted to the serious accident that occurred this morning on the "Vlora-Orikum" road axis, in the Radhima area, where one person lost his life.

According to the police report, the vehicle driven by citizen VR, 32 years old, collided with the vehicle driven by citizen FK, about 35 years old, as well as with another vehicle driven by citizen AM, 31 years old.

As a result of the violent collision, the vehicles burst into flames. Two of the drivers were able to get out of the vehicles in time, along with the passengers who were with them.

Unfortunately, citizen FK was trapped inside the vehicle and, as a result of the flames, died at the scene.

Three foreign passengers, who were traveling in the vehicle driven by citizen AM, were also injured in the accident and were transported to the hospital.

Meanwhile, the drivers of the vehicles, citizens VR and AM, have been escorted to the police station for procedural actions.

Vlora/Preliminary information

At around 07:00, on the “Vlora-Orikum” road axis, in Radhima, the vehicle driven by citizen VR, 32 years old, collided with the vehicle driven by citizen FK, around 35 years old, and with the vehicle driven by citizen AM, 31 years old. After the collision, the vehicles caught fire. 

Citizen FK lost his life as a result of the accident.

Also, 3 passengers (foreign citizens) in the vehicle driven by citizen AM were injured and transported to the hospital for medical assistance. 

The 2 drivers of the vehicles, citizens VR and AM, were escorted to the Police Station for procedural actions.    

The investigation team is working to clarify the circumstances of the accident.
