The 7 immigrants who were settled in the Gjadri camp in Lezhë arrived at midnight in Brindizi, (Italy). They left yesterday evening (November 11) at 19:00 from the port of Shengjin with the Coast Guard ship "Visalli"
The second group of immigrants were caught at sea and landed in Shengjin 4 days ago with the Italian navy ship "Libra". Yesterday the Court of Rome, the immigration section, decided to suspend the decision on their detention and refer the case to the European Court of Justice.
Judges in Rome have turned to the European Court of Justice asking it to decide: Whether the Meloni government's law on so-called safe countries prevails, (which allows for an automatic deportation procedure) or the decision of European judges, according to which the request of any immigrant must be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
