The parents of the 1-year-old confirmed with HIV/AIDS, while they themselves were negative, accuse our health system of getting the infection.

The parents have not yet received an answer as to where their son was infected. Although a few months ago the Court of Appeal of Tirana gave them the right, asking the Prosecutor's Office to thoroughly investigate the case and the claims raised, yet no step has been taken. In fact, the parents of the 1-year-old have made a request for the change of prosecutor Saimir Hysi, who, according to them, is dragging out the case.

The boy's father said that even though there are two court decisions, no steps have been taken by the prosecutor. Their hope has been extinguished, while the only alternative, according to them, is the Strasbourg Court.

"Even though there are two court decisions, no step has been taken by the prosecutor. We have no faith in the Albanian authorities, our only hope is in the Strasbourg Court, we will take the battle for the boy to the end", said the father of the 1-year-old to News 24.

The request of the family members to change the prosecutor has not yet been implemented. Their fear is that the case will never be solved, if the current prosecutor Saimir Hysi will be in charge of the investigations again.

"We demand the change of prosecutor Hysi. We want the case for our son to be investigated", said the father of the child infected with HIV. The family members have been in Italy for months, where the neighboring country is providing the necessary treatment for the boy's treatment, and even granted him a monthly pension, steps that, according to the parents, were not taken or proposed by the Albanian authorities.

What remains a mystery to be clarified; where and how did a 1-month-old child born to AIDS-free parents become infected with HIV/AIDS, and above all, who is responsible for this tragedy?
