The Greek Ministry of Transport has approved a new bus transport line that will depart from Athens to Himara.

This new line will follow the route: Athens - Corinth - Kiato - Xylokastro - Aigio - Patras - Agrinio - Amfilochia - Preveza - Gumenica - Mavromati (border) - Finic - Delvina - Saranda - Himare.

Also, with relevant regulations from Greek Minister Janis Golias, it is allowed to board passengers from Gumenica and Saranda, during the operation of the Athens - Mavromati - Himare line.

This decision comes at a time when tensions between Albania and Greece have increased significantly, after the arrest of the candidate for mayor of Himara Fredi Beleri.

The latter is behind bars on charges of vote-buying corruption, while Greece has raised the issue to the highest institutions of the EU.
