Tensions and clashes were recorded this afternoon between protesters and police officers, who are not allowing the protesters to convey the messages of the 123-day protest in Tirana to the President of the European Commission, Ursula von Der Leyen.
The senior European official is at the Prime Minister's Office, where she is holding a meeting with Prime Minister Edi Rama on Albania's EU integration process.
Law enforcement has intervened to remove the protesters and keep them outside the security perimeter set up in the area around the Prime Minister's Office.
During the police intervention, protesters issued slogans against the State Police and Prime Minister Edi Rama.
"Gysi Police", "Crime Police", "Arrest Rama" and "Shame" were some of the protesters' chants.
