Sir Bobby Charlton, legendary footballer of Manchester United and England who managed to win the World Cup in 1966, has died at the age of 86.
Charlton played 106 games for England and scored 49 goals for the national team, a record for the period.
During his 17-year career with Manchester United, he won the league title three times, the Champions Cup once and the FA Cup once.
The Charlton family released a statement saying he closed his eyes for good in the early hours of Saturday morning without suffering.
After Charlton's death, Sir Geoff Hurst - who scored a hat-trick in England's 4-2 win over Germany in the grand final at Wembley - is the only player from that team still alive.
Sir Bobby Charlton was considered one of the greatest footballers in history and one of the most loved.
