Two Valladolid players are punched on the bench (

A scene that was at least embarrassing that immediately made the rounds of televisions and not only Spanish ones: as the match between Real Valladolid and Getafe was coming to an end, with the latter convincingly winning 3-0 on the away match, two players from the home team became the protagonists of an ugly moment that revealed the deep crisis the team was going through. Luis Pérez and Juanmi Latasa clashed physically, with the defender attempting to punch his teammate who was sitting next to him on the bench.

Real Valladolid is experiencing a dramatic situation, with the team marching towards relegation from La Liga to the Segunda Division: a situation that was reflected once again on the pitch with the heavy defeat at home to Getafe, and that also had major consequences on the bench, where the tension became evident midway through the second half, with the result now irretrievable. While the team was collapsing on the “José Zorrilla” pitch in front of its own fans, one of the ugliest scenes of the season took place on the home bench: Luis Pérez and Juanmi Latasa had an argument that ended with the defender attempting to punch the striker.

Fist fight on the bench between two Valladolid players

The episode occurred after Latasa was sitting on the bench to watch the match closely. An unexpected verbal argument, an apparent clash between him and Pérez, which suddenly got out of control and ended with the defender attempting to punch Latasa. In the middle of the clash, DAZN cameras captured everything. Latasa's harsh words can be clearly heard complaining from the bench about what was happening on the pitch: "This is a big s**t, it's terrible... Can't you see we're not doing anything? This is a s**t job". Luis Pérez responded in an unpleasant way, which brought Latasa's immediate reaction: "Shut up, Luis, enough... You're talking nonsense, like a machine".

From that moment, and after a further comment from Luis Pérez, Latasa responded again, this time covering his mouth: it was at that very moment that the right-back attempted to punch the attacker in the shoulder, but was only stopped by Cömert who intervened between them and avoided the worst.
