Just when it was thought that they might finally part ways, as they did with his strike partner Sadio Mane, Liverpool make the most sensational move by convincing Momo Salah to renew his contract.

The Egyptian striker has found a common language with the European runners-up regarding the new contract. The 30-year-old had another year of contract with "The Reds", as after today's signing, he will stay at "Anfield" until the summer of 2025.

After the officialization, Salah said: "I feel good and I am excited to win more trophies with Liverpool. This is a happy day for everyone. I needed some time to think, now let's focus on what comes next. In the last five or six years, the team has always been growing.

Last season we were close to winning four trophies but, unfortunately, in the last week of the season we lost two trophies. I think we are in a good position to fight for everything. We just have to keep working hard, have a clear vision, be positive and fight to win every trophy.

If I look back and think when I came here, the club wasn't winning trophies, but I said I had come to Liverpool to win. We have won several trophies together, and I think we will continue to win. We have won a lot, we have also experienced disappointments, but this is football" , declared the ninth best scorer in the history of the island club.

The right-wing striker has won six trophies with the historic English club, above all the Premier League (2020) and the Champions League (2019), while he has lost two Champions League finals, both against Real Madrid.

Salah moved from Roma to Liverpool in the summer of 2017 and has so far scored 156 goals in 254 official matches. The new agreement has turned "Pharaoh" into the highest paid player in the history of the club. He benefited from 220 thousand pounds per week from the old contract, while after today's firm his salary has gone to 350 thousand pounds per week.
