The death of Julia Ituma, Igor Gorgonzola's 18-year-old Italian volleyball player, who died after falling from a hotel in Istanbul, is shrouded in mystery.
The volleyball player was staying at a hotel in the residential district of Uskudar on the Asian side of Istanbul after a Champions League match against Turkish side Eczacibasi.
Turkish authorities have seen a video from cameras inside the hotel. In the video published by the Hurryet website, the young athlete is seen leaving her room to talk on the phone.
Then he ends the conversation, walks slowly down the corridor, turns around, sits on the floor and stands for a long time with his back against the wall of the room, his head on his knees and visibly crying.
The last message she sent to the team in the group out of suspicion, as the text read "goodbye". Now the most likely clue is that of a suicide.
Turkish investigators also viewed camera footage showing the facade of the hotel where Julia was staying and confirmed that the girl died after falling from the hotel's sixth-floor window, hitting the exterior awnings.
