Liverpool have rejected Bayern's 40m-euro offer for Senegalese striker Sadio Mane.

According to British media, "The Reds" have been surprised by the offer of the German champions, who had earlier tried to reach an agreement for 30 mln euros, but also rejected.

Liverpool are seeking around 60ml euros for 30-year-old Mane, starting from the similar valuation Bayern make to their striker, Lewandowski.

Mane and Lewandowski both have one year left on their deals with current clubs.

But the Pole has openly expressed a desire to move to Barcelona since a decade with Bayern this summer.

Mane has been more reserved for the future. The striker joked at the weekend that he would be led by public opinion in his native country, suggesting most Senegalese people would prefer him to leave Anfield.

But the striker has previously hinted he will stay at Liverpool, promising a "special" response to his future in the following days.
