Today, the presentation of the 3 finalist projects for the new stadium of Durrës "Niko Dovana" was made. There are 3 contemporary architecture studios in the competition, 51N4E (Belgium) Bjarke Ingels Group, BIG (Denmark) and MVRDV (Netherlands).
In the presentation in front of the Prime Minister Edi Rama, the Mayor Emiriana Sako, the head of the AFL, Armand Duka, as well as an international jury, the representatives of the studios showed the main points of the projects. With shopping malls, cafes and greenery, these have been the essence of every presentation.
The representative of 51N4E from Belgium said that this project should not be separated from the rest, but should be integrated with the city.
"It shouldn't be a big project that prevents life in that city, but be part of the city and not a very big jump between what happens there. Around the stadium there are 3 schools and we will include this in the project and together with the stadium we will turn it into a training park", he said.
Second in line for the presentation was Bjarke Ingels Group, in which the core of their project was a stadium, not only for football players, but also useful for citizens.
"Typical stadium by giving it a human scale, to be useful for the citizens, but also the football players. With a capacity of 10 thousand people", said representatives of this studio.
The last one was MVRDV from the Netherlands.
"We want to build a sports city in the future, not only for the city, but in general terms. We want to achieve the development of a new neighborhood. A new center, with several programs not only for football activities, but to make it used 24 hours a day", concluded the presentation.
