Unexpected: Gjimshiti leaves Atalanta after 9 seasons, the national team captain's new club is revealed

Albanian national team defender Berat Gjimshiti will end his adventure in Serie A.

After 9 seasons with the Atalanta jersey, where he became an important player for the Bergamo team, the defender will start a new chapter in Arab football with the AL Diriyah team.

Gjimshiti is set to sign a two-year contract, while Atalanta will receive 3 million euros from the move.

" Al Diriyah FC reaches verbal agreement to sign Berat Gjimshiti from Atalanta. The compensation is 3 million euros, the contract until June 2028 for the center-back, Saudi sources confirm ," writes Fabrizio Romano.

It is worth mentioning the fact that with the Atalanta jersey, Gjimshiti won the Europa League, lifting the trophy as the club's captain.
