Prime Minister Edi Rama participated in the Interparliamentary Conference between representatives of Albanian institutions, the European Parliament and the parliaments of European countries.
In his speech, Rama focused on the European integration process and the need for a faster political approach to EU enlargement.
He argued that political decisions should not be left to the last moment, but should be made now, while processes and reforms continue according to the merits of each country.
Referring to the fall of the Berlin Wall, Rama said that Europe needs a strong signal that the countries of the continent are together.
The Prime Minister also used the metaphor of Ursula von der Leyen's " seven children ", underlining that the seven candidate countries should be at the same European table.
In the end, Rama summed up his message with Nike's slogan: "Do it!".
Rama: I hope that everyone, regardless of zeal or reluctance, will find a way to give the world and Europe a very strong signal. Such a path is not difficult, it is simple, it is like Columbus's egg or Helmut Köln's when the wall fell. He did not go to the Easterners to show them many chapters to complete, but he said: We are together. You can still see differences, but what can change and facilitate is that political decisions are not left to the last moment.
To be taken now and then to complete the processes according to the merits. Ursula has seven children and Europe has seven candidates. Ursula's children grew up at the table, she did not tell the girl to go hang out with that Russian gangster or the girl to play with those Chinese toys. They were all at that table, despite the fact that the word does not weigh the same on everyone, or everyone eats something.
That's why everyone should be there, as Helmut Koln says. If you complete a chapter, you are a member of that chapter. If you haven't completed another chapter, you are like Ursula's child. We have a lot in common. We don't have to remember that we are one when we only have an attack, or a wave of immigration. It's like Columbus' egg, very simple, as the Nike company says: Do it!.
