Eric Wendt has arrived at the Brigades Palace where he will present his credentials to the President of the Republic, to officially begin his duties as Ambassador of the United States of America to Albania.

Wendt arrived in Albania yesterday, and with his assumption of office comes the end of the almost 3-year period in which the US did not have an official ambassador in Tirana.

Nominated by President Donald Trump and confirmed by the US Senate on August 6, Eric Wendt comes to Tirana with a consolidated military and national security background.

He has over 34 years of service experience in the United States Army, with a long leadership career in the Green Berets Special Forces.

Furthermore, during his diplomatic-military career, he also headed NATO's Special Operations Command.
