Following the video message addressed to Albanians, Prime Minister Edi Rama also spoke about the gifts he has received during his term of office, saying that they have been registered as property of the Albanian state.
Rama stated that wealth, money or favors have not bent his convictions and that his goal, according to him, is the transformation of Albania and the country's integration into the European Union.
"My hours have been violated, not by criminals, but by powerful friends. Unlike my predecessor, who laundered all the gifts, I have registered them as property of the Albanian state. What comes to me as prime minister and what belongs to me, I do not have to have for myself. I travel privately. Or my car is rented by the government, not the party.
I say it again, I certainly have my faults. I may have more mistakes, but money, property, or the favors of any law have never been able to bend my conviction that on this path I am there to give, not to take.
I'm here to make history, not to make wealth. I'm here to transform Albania.
"I want it with the flag as high as possible, at the highest tables. I want it in the EU, with justice independent of me and every prime minister after me," said Rama.
