In a video message to Albanians, Prime Minister Edi Rama stated that his objective was the rebirth of the country, statehood, and the end of impunity for powerful people.
Rama emphasized that a prime minister cannot predict every action of his subordinates, while defending the justice reform and its support despite the problems that, according to him, may arise.
"I promised the rebirth of a ruined Albania and statehood, not a government that no one will ever step on rotten boards and an angelic administration. And above all, I pledged the end of impunity for powerful people."
This is the historic change that is taking place. The pertinent question is not: How is it possible that the prime minister does not know? But: How can he know that his subordinate is thinking of breaking the law?
The Prime Minister is unable to predict an individual's behavior, nor to eavesdrop on what they do behind the scenes, nor to read someone's mind when they are confused, when they start thinking out of the box.
"That is why I have called for justice reform and I support it willingly, despite its shortcomings, however painful and understandable," said Rama.
