Prime Minister Edi Rama stated that the arrest of the former director of SHISH, Vlora Hyseni, does not prove that the government is riddled with corruption, but that justice is acting and is being supported by the governing majority despite the political costs.

"I have nothing else to add, but now I still have to say about the political meaning of this development, since this time an indictment was raised against the government and me personally, with the unbridled refrain; corruption has suffocated us. Regardless of the convictions and direction of the vote, the fact that justice also affects people with high positions, members of the government and collaborators does not prove that corruption has suffocated us or that it is increasing. On the contrary. The facts that in the episodes of this new chapter for Albania do not prove in any way that the governing majority is corrupt. This fact, these episodes, this new justice where there has never before been a kind of independent justice, where there has never been a political leadership interested in giving it independence or political strength to support it by taking on the costs, prove the opposite of the avas that corruption has suffocated us. Corruption is being hit, it is not increasing. The governing majority is steadfast in the fight against corruption, above all within "We are committed to the end, whether for reforms or for facing the political costs that the commitment against corruption of the justice system brings," said Rama.

The Prime Minister said that the government remains committed to the fight against corruption, while raising concerns about the leak of investigative secrets to the media, describing it as a form of public lynching of persons under investigation before the trial takes place.

"No one can claim that the media will preserve investigative secrecy. The problem does not start with the informal spokespeople of the court of justice on the screens. They are used by prosecutors and judges to declare people guilty without starting a trial, just like in a dictatorship, where after the propaganda tools have finished their work, the trial remains a formality. This problem, which starts with the legalized illegality within the court of justice, where investigative secrecy is misused to lynch, cannot be overlooked."

The Prime Minister also explained that Vlora Hyseni was appointed head of SHISH after working as his advisor and based on positive references from partner services, emphasizing that her case now belongs to justice.

"Attempts to explain the appointment of Vlora Hyseniy as head of SHISH with all sorts of conspiratorial fantasies have no connection to the truth. The truth is simple. She started working with me in the role of advisor. After a not-so-short period in that role, as well as based on excellent references received from partner services, she was appointed head of SHISH. It is not even discussed today that the former head of SHISH has opened a difficult account with justice, but rather that she has entered into a great moral debt to this country. But, likewise, it is not discussed that this country does not become in any way fairer when today's people under investigation by the prosecution are lynched in media booths, nor does this society become in any way better when it fanns the flames of those mobs", said Rama.
