Prime Minister Edi Rama stated that during his years in politics he may have made mistakes, but according to him, no one can accuse him of acting against the interests of Albania.

Through a video message from 'Mother Teresa' airport, Rama said that various accusations may have been made against him, but, according to him, there is no evidence related to any of his firms, whether during his time as mayor of Tirana or prime minister.

"When an official has opened an account with the justice system, it is an individual matter between her and the justice system," Rama said.

The Prime Minister said that the fact that justice is investigating powerful individuals does not prove, according to him, that corruption is increasing, but that it is being tackled.

"These episodes prove the complete opposite, they prove that corruption is being hit," he declared.

Rama said that one of his political commitments has been the fight against impunity, regardless of the power of those facing justice.

"I promised the rebirth of a ruined Albania, I pledged to end impunity regardless of power, and this is the historic change that is happening. I am for making history, not for making wealth," Rama concluded.
