In today's meeting of the government with the mayors in Shkodër, the elected mayor of Himara, Fredi Beleri, was absent, as he is in prison on the charge of buying votes.

Prime Minister Edi Rama said that for the repetition of the elections in Himara, the decision of the Court of Appeal is awaited, and added that in the end it will be waiting for the appointment of a date that belongs to the competence of the President.

Rama also had an indirect criticism of Athens when he said that "for me who does not comment on the decisions of justice, it seems a bit abnormal to interfere in the matter of justice".

"Whether or not there will be elections in Himare, we are waiting for the decision of the Appeal. It would be good if justice was left alone internally and externally. The gentleman is a citizen of the Republic of Albania. For me, who do not comment on the decisions of justice, it seems a little abnormal for me to interfere in the matter of justice. I want everything to go as the laws provide and I wish very much that no one comments on the decisions of the Albanian justice", said Rama.
