Former Prime Minister of Albania, Pandeli Majko, has reacted sharply regarding the progress of the trial against KLA leaders at the Specialist Chambers in The Hague, describing it as a serious distortion of historical reality.

Through a public reaction, Majko, who led the Albanian government during the war in Kosovo (1999), emphasized that this process is being seriously undermined by equating the victim with the aggressor.

According to Majko, the justice being sought in The Hague is going beyond individuals, striking at the very basis of Western intervention.

“The trial insults the West's international action on the side of the Albanians, in the face of Serbia's state actions, which have been treated by international law as war crimes,” he writes.

The former prime minister reserves the most serious accusation for the effect this trial is having on the Serbian side. He warns that history is being rewritten backwards.

"This distorted process in The Hague is justifying and amnestying the protagonist and Serbian state leader, Slobodan Milosevic, accused of war crimes in Kosovo!" says Majko.

The reaction ends on a strong note about what might follow.

"After this process, it remains for the court to assess the damage that Kosovo must pay to Serbia!... Shame!", concludes his reaction.
