Prime Minister Edi Rama was welcomed in Kosovo at noon this Monday, February 16, with an official ceremony by his counterpart Albin Kurti, newly confirmed in office.

Rama met earlier with President Vjosa Osmani, while his visit comes a day before Kosovo's Independence Day and the protest that will take place in Pristina, in support of former KLA leaders.

He also participated in the promotion of the book "When Silence Speaks" by author Ahmet Shala in Pristina, dedicated to the trial in The Hague against former KLA leaders.

The Prime Minister described the Hague Special Prosecution Office as an "idiot prosecution" after it requested 180 years in prison for the 4 former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army, adding that it has been unable to prove any of the accusations it has raised against them.

Rama said that the KLA's war was not about terror or ethnic cleansing, but against foreign rulers. Rama described this process as being driven by the infamous Dick Marty report, which he said he hopes will not be allowed to rest where it is.

The Prime Minister also stated that the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has been "threatened" for two years by the Specialized Prosecution Office in The Hague, because according to him, she did not allow prosecutors to search for "evidence" in the President's office.
