The leader of the Democrat Party, Sali Berisha , after leaving SPAK where he appeared in compliance with the mandatory appearance measure, has revealed the behind-the-scenes, according to him, of the response in the detention cell in Durrës of the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj.

The former Prime Minister stated that Erion Veliaj was trapped by the Minister of Justice, Ulsi Manja, who gave Berisha a guarantee that the mayor would not be wiretapped.

But the leader of the DP emphasized, "it was apparently filled with bugs on all sides."

Sali Berisha stated that Erion Veliaj was recorded talking on the phone, and even sleeping in his bed in the cell.

"Erion Veliaj was recorded talking on a landline phone, sleeping in his bed, and sitting at a table.

It was apparently filled with bedbugs on all sides.  Yes, every prisoner or detainee has their rights.

"And using old traps, taking Uluziu to give him security and then carrying out these actions, means that it goes beyond any kind of scale, it's like in old tragedies," Berisha said.
