The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs announces that it has abstained from Russia's resolution at the Security Council Meeting.
Through an announcement on platform X, the ministry states that the reason is the non-inclusion of critical issues in the resolution, such as Hamas's attacks on Israel.
"At yesterday's meeting of the Security Council, Albania abstained from the draft resolution presented by Russia because the text failed to adequately address all critical issues, including the condemnation of terrorist attacks by Hamas.
The United Nations Security Council must come together in condemning terrorism, in addressing many of the urgent and critical needs on the ground, including the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza and the protection of civilians everywhere," the statement said.
Today #Albania abstained on the draft resolution presented by #Russia because the text failed to properly address all critical issues, including condemning the terror attacks by Hamas.
