The Minister of the Interior, Taulant Balla , has stated that the new draft law will bring changes that will provide a final solution to the protracted problem related to the lack of unification and standardization of the address system.

Balla said that a unique register of housing will be established at the country level, to which all institutions in the country will refer.

"Each residence, building, business, each unit will have a unique, unrepeatable identification code," said the minister at the Law Commission, which listed the facilities it will bring.

Taulant Balla: "The draft law deals with some important changes that aimed to provide a final solution to a long-standing problem related to the lack of unification and standardization of the address system.

Changes that we have brought for approval are related to the establishment of a unique register of housing at the country level, which will have the obligation to refer to all institutions in the country, whether public or private.

If until now we have had address registers from different institutions, after the approval of the law we will have 1 unique address register in Albania with unified standards of address format at the country level. Each residence, building, business, each unit will have a unique, unrepeatable identification code.

Each apartment has a unique code and enables us to finally solve a problem that is first and foremost related to the provision of appropriate services to the citizen. The second has to do with facilitating the arrival at the address, not only the postal service, but also the identification of the addresses and regarding the foreign visitors to go to a certain address.

By equipping each residence, hotel, business with the unique code, the intended destination will be easily accessible. The unique register is in operation, address book adresari.mb.gov.al
