Prime Minister Edi Rama had chosen not to react to the opposition action, but the fact that the international media reported the fire in the Assembly, he said he had no choice but to comment on it.
What worries him the most, Rama said at the expanded Assembly of the Socialist Party, is the fact that the opposition is excited by this because they see it as support for them. However, according to him, it is nothing more than a sensation like "a group of people confused the parliament with a cave and started a fire".
"The enthusiasm and excitement of how that flame lit in the parliament took shape in the world's media, makes me not sit without commenting on this thing, because the truth is that they have once again exported a product of extraordinary ugliness outside of Albania and those who they published it, published it as a zoological curiosity, not as a revolution. To set fire to a European parliament is a sensation, it is not discussed, it is the same as suddenly a group of people confused the parliament with a cave and started a fire, but the effect on Albania for any kind of spectator not interested in going into details , it's definitely this one, "what is this country like, or how can the parliament fire, is it worth leaving next year", to get excited about this is a shame, they have always done this. They left no chance without making it look bad in the eyes of the world, and this last one a zoological sensation", said Rama.
Rama for Berisha: He thought he was untouchable, but today he is facing justice
Amidst the chaos and the opposition's stance that there will not be a plenary session without the approval of the Investigative Commissions, Prime Minister Edi Rama said that he does not back down from his position either.
In his speech from the Extended Assembly of the Socialist Party, Rama said that he is not worried at all by the opposition's action, as he is convinced that this is done only to protect Sali Berisha, although he did not mention him by name at any time. He labeled him as "the man who thought he was untouchable, but today he is facing justice".
"We have said that we will not set up commissions of inquiry without addressing the decisions of the Constitutional Court without being implemented and there has been no fire, this fire does not coincide with the commissions of inquiry, but with something else, which everyone knows what it is, and there is no a person who does not know, it is because of an individual that many saw as untouchable and now he is before justice and it cannot be a constitutional right to set up an investigative commission, because otherwise there would be no commissions issued against -constitutional by the Court, you can raise the commission, but the way it is done is determined by the Constitutional Court, the basis of our law is the German law and we will refer to it for some other points that have not been taken into consideration, vote and then set up an investigative commission, but not an investigative commission because we heard that the prime minister spent 20 million euros on travel, make an official request and get the answer. They made the request and received a response, but they don't like it and that's how they all are," said Rama.
