Albanian analyst from North Macedonia, Kim Mehmeti, invited tonight to 'Top Story' by Grida Duma, spoke about the student movement of Albanian students in Skopje for the Albanian language.
Mehmeti expressed that the withdrawal of the Albanian ambassador to Skopje, Denion Meidani, would be a shame for Tirana and would put an end to the student voice, while at the same time giving momentum and courage to anti-Albanian groups.
"This is truly the missing voice of Albanianness. This is how Albanianness should speak, it should speak through youthful enthusiasm. Then we stop at this other part.
Tirana has shown itself to be inferior in these issues until the arrival of this ambassador in Skopje. Official Tirana taught the Macedonian side to send technical ambassadors here who are for weddings and circumcisions. Who do not deal with Albanianness, who deal with Albanian parties and teach Albanian parties to side with the Albanian party that is in government. So much so that an Albanian ambassador declared all of us who criticized the DUI traitors to the nation.
Why do I say this, because being taught this way created the impression that we are a people without a motherland. That in the end, if Tirana does not care about Albanians, who should care. Maybe we need ambassadors like the previous ones, who happened here in Kumanovo, Sopot and the murder of Albanians, they came out and gave statements as if they were representatives of the United Nations. I have said it and I will say it again, when the Albanian ambassador speaks in Skopje, Skopje should tremble.
I know, I know this, I am not naive, that Macedonia immediately complains to the internationals that it has always benefited from its complaint to the internationals, that the Albanians destabilize it. But that Albania and that Pristina never told the internationals that the Macedonian elite does not want a Macedonia that speaks Albanian. They do not want a Macedonia where Albanians are educated in the Albanian language, they do not want a Macedonia that will have only Albanian interests.
And look at it from this context, if it really happens that they withdraw Ambassador Mejdani from Skopje, this will be a strong arm for the anti-Albanian circles in Macedonia. If it is done, then the story of the student voice is also done, there will be no more student voice. This is where the anti-Albanian circles, those who love the dead Albanian, will gain momentum.
It is the shame of Albanianness, and if this is realized, then we will ultimately send a signal that official Tirana feels inferior to all its neighbors and cares more about whether it will be liked by Macedonians and Serbs than whether it will be liked by Albanians.
Tirana and Pristina should measure themselves by how much they are liked by Albanians in the Presevo Valley, in Macedonia, in Montenegro, and not by how much they are liked by Belgrade and Skopje.
"Because if it happens differently, let's declare Belgrade the capital of Albanianism because Macedonia is Belgrade's political subsidiary, it is its political representation. And when it comes to Albanians, it implements Serbian policy towards Albanians," said analyst Kim Mehmeti.
