The Spokesperson for Europe and Foreign Affairs has reacted to media reports and comments on diplomatic movements in the Foreign Service.

Through a statement, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Alteo Hysi, emphasizes that any decision-making on diplomatic appointments or movements is made in accordance with applicable legislation, internal rules and consolidated diplomatic practices.

According to him, these processes are based on professional and institutional analyses, aiming at the most efficient use of human resources and in function of Albania's foreign policy priorities.

Hysi adds that the comments and interpretations published in the media "do not reflect reality" and describes the conjectures presented as facts as "completely unfounded."

Reaction of the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs:

Diplomatic movements, including those at the level of the Head of Mission, are always carried out in accordance with applicable legislation, the internal regulatory framework for the Foreign Service, as well as consolidated diplomatic practices.

These processes are based on professional and institutional analysis, with the objective of the most efficient use of human resources, in accordance with the foreign policy priorities of the Republic of Albania. The relevant decision-making includes coordination and consultation with the responsible state institutions.

Comments and media coverage do not reflect reality, much less the institutional process that is followed in such cases.

In particular, the conjectures or interpretations presented as facts are completely unfounded and do not deserve further attention.
