The testimony in the prosecutor's office of the former deputy Mark Frroku, who was arrested yesterday along with 7 other people after a violent physical confrontation over the property in Cape Rodoni, is cleared.
The prosecution has interrogated the parties in the conflict for a land surface, about 5 dynym and 417 meters, which has access to the sea.
There, on Sunday, October 29, the Kaçuli family, supported by residents of the area and their friends, opposed the works to fence a piece of land claimed at the same time by the Franciscan Church and by Bajram Kaçuli.
Mark Frroku has stated that he was contacted by the church that made the siege and says that he did not know that anyone had shot a weapon from the people who were working to surround the land, as well as from those who were with him at the scene
"I was contracted by the church to fence the land. When we were working, we were attacked by a group of villagers who told us to stop the work because the land is ours. They hit us and we defended ourselves. In the meantime, the police came and separated us and then detained us. Regarding the land, the church has an old property document. I don't know that anyone shot a weapon from the people who were working on the land fence, as well as from those who were with me at the scene," he said to the prosecutors.
Meanwhile, the Kaçuli family stated that they had gone to protect the land they had acquired with papers under Law 7501
"We went to protect our property because we have it with papers according to 7501. There we were prevented by the people of the church and you fought with them. One of them shot a pistol in the air but we could not identify who it was"
Former deputy Mark Frroku and citizens Antonio Lazari, Pal Doda and Martin Lazeri were arrested for "Intimidation", "Criminal concealment", "Actions that prevent the discovery of the truth" and "Disturbance of public order and peace".
They are expected to appear tomorrow at the Durrës Court for evaluation of the security measure.
The police have announced the search for Besnik Toma, the driver of Mark Frroku, after allegedly firing a gun at the site of the conflict, where a pistol cartridge was also found. He is the administrator of the company "AM-L Group", which was contracted to carry out the works of the surrounding wall by members of the church.
