The Assembly will come out today with a decision on the issue of the mandate of the socialist MP Olta Xhaçka, whether or not it will be sent for verification to the Constitutional Court. This agenda item is expected to bring strong debates between the opposition and the majority.

The Socialist Party has not yet made public the position it will take on Xhaçka's mandate, given that the Conference of Chairmen did not come up with a decision. On the other hand, until now, only the opposition's report has been submitted to the Assembly, through which it is requested that Xhaçka's mandate be sent to the Constitutional Court for verification. The SP stated that it will prepare a report by Wednesday, which is expected to be presented today.

The issue of Xhaçka's mandate was not discussed, while on January 23, 2023, the Constitutional Court accepted the request of 14 DP deputies to annul the Parliament's decision that approved the majority report not to bring Xhaçka's mandate to the Constitutional Court .

This decision means that the Assembly is obliged to take a request of the deputies for verification of the mandate of a deputy to the Constitutional Court and it will be the last one to decide.
