An Albanian delegation left today for Brussels as part of the first intergovernmental conference with the European Union, which will be held the next day.

The delegation consists of 25 officials, part of the negotiating group with the Union, headed by the Prime Minister Edi Rama and the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka who will sit in front of the representatives of the 27 member countries of the Union in the presence of the high representative of politics Foreign Minister Josef Borrell, Enlargement Commissioner Oliver Varhelyi and the Czech Foreign Minister, the country that holds the next Presidency of the EU.

The representatives of both parties will present the negotiation framework which must be approved. For Albania, this will be the official opening of negotiations.
