Ornela Çuçi reacted after Prime Minister Edi Rama signed her resignation after 5 years from the post of Deputy Minister of Tourism.

In a post on social networks, Çuçi writes that it is not a matter of dismissal, but resignation, since according to her, she has asked for her resignation.

Among other things, Çuçi thanks Rama, Minister Kumbaro and the team of the Ministry of Tourism, as he writes that he will continue to be a public voice for environmental issues in Albania and the region, which he represents in international environmental organizations, in in accordance with her professional competence and civic consciousness.

Full reaction:

I thank Prime Minister Rama, who on 29.07.2022 accepted my release from office after my request to be free from service in the Ministry of Tourism and Environment.

These five years have been an extraordinary experience for me, under the continuous guidance of Prime Minister Rama, whom I take the opportunity to thank for distinguishing me from the world of expertise in the country, from the academic world and that of civil society, and initially entrusted me with the task of the Councilor in his Cabinet, then of the Deputy Minister, responsible for the environment.
Grateful for this opportunity, as serving your country is and will always be a blessing!

I believe that together with many other deputy minister colleagues, we illustrated a new political spirit, which the Prime Minister wanted to give to the position of the deputy minister in the governance of Albania. Gratitude to the Prime Minister for his unlimited support, giving this political position competence, responsibility and professionalism, instead of traditional politicization.

I take the opportunity to underline his spirit to introduce into the classic political teams, inherited or created of party life, experts without any political, provincial or clan bias, but only on the field of expertise.

Ishin pesë vite të një pune intensive ku shpresoj që me kopetencën dhe përkushtimin tim, të kem kontribuar modestisht në hapjen dhe zhvillimin e temave të rëndësishme të mjedisit, apo në përballimin e problematikave të mprehta dhe delikate të mjedisit në Shqipëri e më gjerë, në rajon.

Jam e bindur se nën qeverisjen e Kryeministrit Rama janë krijuar bazat e një politike të qënësishme mjedisore për vendin tonë, të cilat tashmë, duhen të kthehen realisht në prioritet politik të dorës së parë.

I thank the entire team of the Ministry of Tourism and Environment, for the precious work, for the tireless cooperation in facing the challenges that, especially in recent years, have been very sharp and especially under the eye of the cyclone of public opinion.
I wish Minister Kumbaro's team success in the challenges it has undertaken and in the issues it has been involved in!

I will continue to be a public voice for environmental issues in Albania and the region, which I represent in international environmental organizations, in accordance with my professional competence and civic awareness.
