The chairwoman of the SMI, Monika Kryemadhi, commented on the debate between former Prime Minister Sali Berisha and President Ilir Meta on the decree of releasing Bajram Begaj from military duties.

In an interview with News24, Kryemadhi said that the parties could have addressed the Constitutional Court to further clarify this debate.


" For the sake of truth, I am not a lawyer to discuss the president's decrees. I think they should address the Constitutional Court. 

I believe it would make it clearer and clearer. Addressing her, she would give an answer to Berisha's debates with the Presidency "- said Kryemadhi.

Regarding the election of Begaj as head of state, Kryemadhi decided in doubt whether he will manage to maintain impartiality in the face of a government which the chairwoman of the SMI considers autocratic.

"I have nothing personal with Mr. Begaj. Being President requires integrity, independence of thought and patriotism. 

I do not know if it will be possible for him, having parasuyush an autocratic government and a dictatorial prime minister.  The whole process was non-consensual, it was exclusive. It could be the president, a journalist, a political analyst who had some kind of independence. 

"What impresses you was the verdict of the majority vote, the changes of 2008, gave the right to the majority " - said Kryemadhi.
